Russians claim to have recaptured the penultimate Ukrainian-controlled town in Kursk

In the Russian region of Kursk, where Ukraine seized territory last year, Russia has now recaptured almost all of it. Only one village remains under Ukrainian control.

With the takeover of this small border village, there is only one other, that of Gornal, still under Ukrainian control in the Kursk region.

The Russian army claims to have recaptured the penultimate locality in the Russian Kursk region still under the control of the Ukrainian army, thus almost completely completing the reconquest of this territory that was the target of a Ukrainian offensive in the summer of 2024.

Russia announced on Saturday that it had recaptured the penultimate village occupied by Ukrainian forces in its Kursk region.
