Russia Launches 1,900 Drones, 1,600 Bombs in a Week
Russian forces launched about 1,900 attack drones, 1,600 guided aerial bombs, and 144 missiles against 16 Ukrainian regions over one week, causing damage to over 1,500 properties including hundreds of residential buildings.
The attacks included strikes in Brovary resulting in one death and multiple injuries, as well as shelling in other regions such as Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk, causing civilian casualties.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that many Russian defense enterprises producing drones, missiles, and guided bombs remain unsanctioned and urged the expansion of sanctions to reduce attacks.
During a massive weekend or nationwide assault involving dozens of missiles and nearly 200 drones, a shortage of Patriot interceptors allowed most ballistic missiles to hit targets, causing at least nine deaths and 33 injuries, prompting Zelenskyy to call for increased delivery of anti-ballistic systems.
