Uganda: Besigye, Lutale Accuse High Court of Violating Fair Hearing Rights in Ongoing Bail Proceedings

Opposition politician Dr. Kizza Besigye and co-accused Hajj Obeid Lutale have accused the High Court Criminal Division of violating their constitutional right to a fair hearing and legal representation of their choice in ongoing criminal and human rights proceedings.

Besigye rejects call for new counsel, retains Karua and Lukwago

Jailed opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye has formally protested to the High Court, telling presiding Judge Emmanuel Baguma that deported Kenyan lawyer Martha Karua SC and imprisoned lawyer Erias Lukwago remain his primary attorneys.
