Japan Braces for Typhoon Dujuan as Huge Waves Pound Volcanic Islands
Typhoon Dujuan was approaching Japan’s Pacific coast, bringing torrential rain, violent winds and huge waves to volcanic islands in the east. Footage from Mikurajima and Hachijojima showed waves pounding shorelines as authorities warned of worsening conditions and landslide risks.
Typhoon Duzhuang is causing major problems in Japan, with torrential rains, flooded roads, landslides and one injury in Chiba Prefecture. Authorities have issued evacuation warnings for thousands of residents, while nearly 500 flights, train services and major events have been canceled, even affecting the Prime Minister's schedule.
Typhoon Dujuan, moving towards the Pacific coast of Japan, caused transportation disruptions in Tokyo and led to the cancellation of some events. The highest alert was issued for Izu Oshima, and the typhoon is expected to pass through Chiba, bringing heavy rainfall.
