- Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an invitation from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian but has prior travel commitments to Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand from July 6 to 11.
- BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid received invitations; Kharge has not yet decided whether to attend.
- Khamenei died on February 28 during the opening phase of the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, while a strike on a Tehran compound also killed at least seven other senior leaders.
