Two inmates escaped from the Alcoentre Prison Establishment at 18:20 this Monday. One of the surveillance towers will have been inactive in that area from Sunday to Monday. The case was brought forward by Correio da Manhã, which reported that the fugitives are Hélder Angélico, 37, and Augusto Dinis, 44, who were serving sentences for robbery and drug trafficking, respectively. The SIC knows that the two prisoners fled through the area where the guards towers are disabled due to the lack of prison guards. They are two men of Portuguese nationality, Hélder Malheiro and Augusto Dinis, 37 and 44 years old, arrested for drug and theft. One of them had been transferred from Ponta Delgada, where he had already tried to escape.
