2 charged in deadly 2023 Mississauga shooting
Police say a three-year investigation led to four arrests and the seizure of a firearm in the fatal shooting of Bryan Lara-Alvarez.
Peel Regional Police charged two men, both aged 22, with first-degree murder on Friday following an extensive three-year investigation into a 2023 homicide in Mississauga, Ont.
Authorities responded to reports of gunfire near Dream Crest Road and Alicante Street in the East Credit area on March 20, 2023, where officers found 29-year-old Bryan Lara-Alvarez with gunshot wounds.
Police charged Shamba Tull of Toronto and Shammar Osbourne of Wasaga Beach with first-degree murder, while Talena Farquharson-Miller and Ahmed Hassan, both of Toronto, face multiple firearm charges.
All four suspects remain in custody pending bail hearings after multiple search warrants were executed, leading to the seizure of a firearm.
Detectives identified the suspects after an extensive investigation spanning more than three years, noting that a grey SUV was observed fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.
