SUNFLOWER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AUG 4 – Authorities seized nearly 250 pounds of marijuana, $295,495 in cash, firearms, and a small plane during a coordinated bust targeting trafficking in the Mississippi Delta region.
- On July 29, agents arrested William Claren and Mark Bailey at Ruleville-Drew Airport in Drew, Mississippi, seizing nearly 250 pounds of marijuana and almost $300,000 in cash.
- Last Tuesday, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Sunflower County Sheriff's Office, and Winona Police Department K-9 Unit executed a joint operation at Ruleville-Drew Airport, arresting two suspects for trafficking marijuana and conspiracy.
- Approximately 247 pounds of marijuana and $295,495 in cash were seized from a Piper/Comanche airplane and a Drew residence, and officials also confiscated a Taurus PT-22 pistol and Springfield Model 67VR shotgun.
- On Monday, authorities announced charges of trafficking marijuana and conspiracy against Bailey and Claren, with the investigation remaining active for more arrests and seizures.
