'Armed and Dangerous' Pair Escape From Vance County Detention Center in Henderson, $40,000 Reward Offered
The FBI and local agencies are offering up to $40,000 as authorities warn the pair are armed and dangerous.
On Wednesday at approximately 2 p.m., inmates Michael Lewis Miles Jr., 33, and Lishawn Knott, 21, escaped from the Vance County Detention Center in Henderson, prompting an immediate search by Vance County Sheriff Curtis Brame and deputies.
Both men were being held on state drug trafficking and gun-related charges prior to their escape. According to court records, the pair were familiar with one another before their initial arrests.
The FBI and Henderson-Vance Crime Stoppers are offering a combined reward of up to $40,000 for information leading to the capture of the escapees, with up to $20,000 allocated for each individual.
Residents are urged to lock vehicles, close garage doors, and monitor home surveillance footage for real-time tracking. Anyone who spots the suspects should not approach them but contact 911 immediately.
Miles and Knott are considered armed and dangerous by authorities. Miles, 33, stands 6 feet tall with a prominent neck tattoo; Knott, 21, is 5 feet 11 inches with facial tattoos including a large cross on his forehead.
