Two defendants in the Synohydro case were arrested in Panama

In a press release, the Ministry of the Interior reported on 23 April 2025 on the detention for extradition of two of those indicted for the alleged crime of bribery in the Sinohydro case.

Actions by the Police to Ecuadorean and the Interpol office in Panama resulted in the arrest of Auxiliadora Pati or Jos Xavier Mac as, prosecuted in the Sinohydro case.

Both are being prosecuted for the alleged bribery offence in the Sinohydro case, an investigation examining a corruption network linked to the Coca Codo Sinclair hydroelectric project,
