Odisha Horror: Brothers Try to Bury 5 Month Pregnant Teen Alive After Raping Her
JAGATSINGHPUR DISTRICT, ODISHA, INDIA, JUL 25 – Two brothers allegedly raped a minor repeatedly for a year, resulting in pregnancy, and attempted to bury her alive to hide the crime, police said. The third accused remains at large.
- Odisha Police arrested two brothers on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Jagatsinghpur district for allegedly raping a minor girl and trying to kill her after she became pregnant.
- The arrest followed a complaint by the victim’s father, whose daughter, belonging to a poor family and orphaned of her mother, was assaulted repeatedly for over a year by the accused brothers.
- The brothers, aged 60 and 58 and working at a local mutt, threatened the minor to keep silent and attempted to suppress the case through a local panchayat leader who also faces charges and is absconding.
- A third accused, identified as Tulu Babu, is absconding, and police launched a hunt while registering cases under rape and the POCSO Act against all accused persons and the local leader.
- The victim, now seven months pregnant, is under medical care, and further investigation continues amid community outrage and political criticism of local law enforcement.
