Report: Twins interested in interviewing former player Punto for managerial role
(Minneapolis, MN) — The list of candidates to become the next Minnesota Twins manager is growing. The Athletic is reporting that the team is interested in interviewing Nick Punto. Punto played with the Twins from 2004 until 2010. He spent last season as the bench coach of the San Diego Padres. The next Twins manager will replace Rocco Baldelli, who was fired by the team following the 2025 regular season.

The Twins’ search for a new manager has taken them to a familiar name, as The Athletic’s Dan Hayes and Dennis Lin report that the club will be speaking with former utilityman Nick Punto.
