Twins’ Byron Buxton undergoes hip surgery
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right hip after being placed on the injured list for the third time this season.
Dr. Christopher Larson repaired Buxton’s labrum and performed decompression and cam resection procedures; the Twins said Buxton was resting comfortably.
Buxton said he was optimistic about being ready for the 2027 season after recovering from the surgery.
Buxton played in 18 games after the All-Star break, with his last appearance on Aug. 25 after aggravating his hip while fielding a ball.
