Turkish police arrested 357 suspects in 21 provinces targeting IS cells planning attacks during Christmas and New Year, including financiers and recruiters, officials said.

- Officials said they seized encrypted communication devices, fake identity documents and ISIS-related propaganda, while the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office reported raids on 114 addresses detaining 110 people and Ankara police held 17 suspects including 11 foreign nationals.
- Detainees are now under interrogation with some expected to be remanded or deported, while President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan offered condolences at funerals for the three officers in Yalova and authorities detained over 100 individuals for provocative posts.
- While IS lost territory years ago, it continues attacks and Turkey has stepped up operations this year, following deadly strikes like the 2015 Ankara peace rally bombing and the 2017 Reina nightclub attack on Jan. 1, 2017.
