CMS Proposes Medicare Payment Cuts in 2027—Physician Groups Pledge to Bring About Change

CMS said the overhaul would shift Medicare toward primary care and value-based payments while ending traditional MIPS reporting in 2029.

Cardiologists received a nice bump in pay in 2026 thanks to a one-time 2.5% conversion factor increase. That expires at the end of the year, however, and physicians will see their payments decrease as a result.
