My theory is that the GMKtec G3 NucBox doesn't have faulty HDMI ports, but a shit power supply. It is a 12V power supply, and it powers the mini pc, and I can get the pc to work (I plugged in my Android phone, turned on USB tethering, which would turn right off if no pc+OS weren't connected – it stayed on), but there's just no juice to push the pixels for the 20 inch 1080p display.
