- Gerhardt Konig denied claims that he tried to push Arielle Konig, bash her head with a rock, and stab her, testifying instead that he intended to jump to his death after discovering she was having an "emotional affair."
- Two hikers who heard Arielle Konig's screams helped her down the trail. Gerhardt Konig also called his adult son, who told authorities his father confessed he "tried to kill your stepmom," a claim the defendant denied making.
