Trevor Bauer’s Next Stop: An Atlantic League Opening Night Start with the Long Island Ducks
Bauer, 34, will pitch opening night and wear a microphone for all games and practices to help create content.
On Thursday, former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer signed with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League, scheduled to pitch opening night on April 21.
The right-hander previously pitched in Japan and for the Diablos Rojos of the Mexican Baseball League, earning pitcher of the year in 2024.
After serving a 194-game suspension for violating MLB's domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy, Bauer was never charged with a crime and civil claims were settled.
As part of the agreement, Bauer will be "Mic'd Up" for all games and practices, helping create content for team outlets. "I'm looking forward to competing in front of U.S. fans again this season," he said.
Entering his 15th professional season, Bauer expressed excitement about the Ducks organization: "The Ducks have had some incredible players come through their organization, and I'm excited to be part of that tradition.
