The Flexy project, launched in 2023 by SNCF and its partners, aims to give a second life to the rural and peri-urban lines that are no longer operated. These will offer users a local but also ecological and low-cost means of public transport. The former Autun/Etang-sur-Arroux line was chosen by SNCF to carry out, by 2027, full-size tests of its Carflex rail-road shuttle, which will be the rolling stock of the Flexy system.
