Over the past three years, the text, which transposes a European directive, reinforces the obligations of companies with regard to equality between men and women, and it has yet to be adopted by Parliament.
While the European directive on wage transparency is emerging, some French companies have already introduced open pay systems, with contrasting reactions.
The draft law to transpose the European directive on wage transparency is due to be presented to the Council of Ministers on 10 September.For the economist Séverine Lemière, France must take up new criteria for comparison in order to move towards more equality between men and women.
"The aim is to ensure once again that there is more transparency, more fairness, more equality, we are not there to flick," promised Aurore Bergé, Minister for Gender Equality, Wednesday on RMC. This objective has been delayed, since like most European countries - Italy, Greece, Slovakia, Lithuania and Malta excepted - France had missed in June the official deadline to enroll in French law the text voted by the 27 in 2023.
Will it now be possible to know the salaries of your colleagues? The bill arrives in the Council of Ministers, a first step before its adoption. The objective: to reduce the pay gap in the equivalent position, especially between women and men. But its application is also a source of concern for some.
