Senators, Fabian Zetterlund Agree to Three-Year, US$12.825M Contract Extension
OTTAWA, CANADA, JUN 19 – The Senators secured Fabian Zetterlund with a three-year, $12.8 million deal to retain their young winger despite his recent scoring dip, with an average annual value of $4.275 million.
On June 19, 2025, the Ottawa Senators signed Fabian Zetterlund to a three-year, $12.825 million contract extension in Ottawa.
The Senators acquired 25-year-old Swedish winger Zetterlund from the San Jose Sharks at the March 7, 2025 trade deadline to strengthen their roster.
Zetterlund played 84 games last season between San Jose and Ottawa, scoring 19 goals and 22 assists, though his production dipped after the trade.
General manager Steve Staios expressed satisfaction with adding Fabian midway through last season and announced that the team has secured his services for an additional three years.
The contract reflects Ottawa’s intention to include Zetterlund among their primary forwards next season, adding his dedication and scoring ability to a roster with $11.7 million in salary cap space.
