100th annual Dakota Relays conclude at Howard Wood
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- The 100th annual Howard Wood Dakota Relays finished with a full day of action Saturday. There were a dozen new South Dakota state records set on the day across the track and field competitions. The day also included the Special Olympics 100 meter dashes. Dannica Sheets of Aberdeen Central and Pierre's Kaden Cumbow claimed first in those races. You can see full results from the second day of action here.
Regional tracksters earn podium finishes at Howard Wood Dakota Relays meet
SIOUX FALLS — A handful of the region’s tracksters had podium finishes at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays over the weekend. Fargo Davies’ Joshua Beil finished third in the 300 meter hurdles in 39.31 seconds. Bismarck Legacy’s Bennet Lonn took second at 39.03 seconds and Madison’s Shane Veenhof won at 38.06. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Montevideo boys track and field 4x800 relay team placed eighth at the Howard Wood Relays on Friday afternoon. Montevideo’s eighth-place finish of 8 minutes, 37.08 seconds among 24 entries came in the “A” division at Howard Wood Field Fieldhouse.
