TOWARDS CONCLAVE/14 Poola: India's first Dalit cardinal, at the service of the poor and the marginalized

Born to a mixed family with a Catholic father and a Hindu mother, from an early age he experienced firsthand the difficulties - the marginalization - of those outside the caste. The course of study completed only thanks to men of the Church through whom he strengthens the faith and discovers the vocation. Hyderabad is a cosmopolitan, multi-cultural reality with different languages. The 'challenge' is the announcement of the Gospel.
