Toulouse v Troyes Ligue 1 game postponed amid unrest in France
The French league said the change follows unrest that has led to curfews in Toulouse and other cities and thousands of arrests nationwide.
The LFP announced on Wednesday that the Ligue1 match between Toulouse and Troyes, originally scheduled for Saturday, is moved to Sunday, October 25 at 5:15 PM at the request of the Haute-Garonne Prefecture.
France has faced some of its worst unrest in years this month, with protests over high prices and declining public services prompting looting at official stores of Lille and Marseille.
"Although not considered high-risk, organising an event with such a large turnout requires the deployment of internal security forces and municipal police personnel," the Haute-Garonne Prefecture said.
On Tuesday, the Ligue match between Montpellier and Paris-based Red Star was moved to Monday, while a rugby match between Toulouse and Perpignan remains scheduled for Saturday.
Authorities have ordered partial curfews in parts of Paris and other cities, including Toulouse, to prevent further violence, with measures in Toulouse set to end on Sunday.
The Ligue 1 match between Toulouse and Troyes this weekend has been moved up a day due to the unrest in France, the French league organization LFP has announced.
According to L'Équipe's information, the shock of the 8th day of Ligue 1 between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais, originally scheduled for Sunday at 8:45 p.m., could be staggered by 24 hours.
