Tottori Prefecture's revised ordinance, which orders people who post defamatory or discriminatory content on social networking sites and other online platforms to delete the content, and makes it possible to impose a fine of up to 50,000 yen if they do not comply, will come into effect on the 25th. The prefecture says it is not aware of any other prefectures that have enacted similar ordinances.
