The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed on Wednesday what many suspected; the strong winds that caused serious damage to their Miami-Dade community were caused by a tornado. "A supercell that formed along this system crossed Interstate 75 and Turnpike at the northern end of Miami-Dade and produced a short-lived EF0 tornado in the Palm Springs North community," says the preliminary report.
