Tonga volcano eruption: Mango and 'Atata Islanders resettle nearly a year on from disaster

Two Tongan islands, 'Atata and Mango, have been relocated to the Kingdom's main island of Tongatapu and third largest island, 'Eua. The exodus occurred over the past two weeks and comes nearly a year after the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano erupted, on 15 January 2022. Both islands were devastated by tsunami waves, caused by the eruption.
