'Right up My Alley': Scott Primed for Magical Milestone
Scott joins Jack Nicklaus as the only players with 100 straight major starts, while still chasing a second major after his 2013 Masters win.
On Thursday, Australian golfer Adam Scott will become the second competitor to play in 100 consecutive major championships when he tees off at the 126th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
Scott's streak began at the 2001 British Open, placing him behind eighteen-time major champion Jack Nicklaus, who played 146 consecutive majors before retiring from competition.
The 45-year-old Australian has maintained this intensity for 25 years, amassing 20 top-10 finishes, though his 2013 Masters victory remains his sole major title.
Rory McIlroy called the streak 'absolutely incredible,' noting the elite level and injury avoidance required to play 100 majors in succession.
Scott feels physically and mentally prepared for Shinnecock Hills, aiming to secure a second major win to cap his historic 100-consecutive-major run.
