Tommy Robinson found guilty of harassing journalists
Jurors found he used private investigators and social media posts to intimidate reporters, who needed security or moved home, prosecutors said.
A jury at Southwark Crown Court found Tommy Robinson guilty of two counts of harassment causing fear of violence, delivering the majority verdict after 11 hours and 25 minutes of deliberation.
Robinson retaliated after the Daily Mail and MailOnline published stories about him "stoking riots from his sunbed" while holidaying in Cyprus during August 2024 unrest following the Southport murders.
Prosecutors labelled the 43-year-old, who gave his name as Stephen Lennon, a "bully" for hiring private investigators to find victims' addresses, then posting photographs of Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber online.
Freelance reporter Andrew Young and Daily Mail editor Jacob Dirnhuber felt forced to leave their homes or hire security due to the harassment; Robinson was granted bail before his December 16 sentencing.
Before the trial, Robinson thanked Tesla owner Elon Musk on X for funding his legal fees, as police continue monitoring anti-migrant activity associated with supporters' patrols in Lancashire.
