Police Zero in on 2 Suspects After a Mass Shooting at a Festival in Toledo, Ohio
Investigators have identified several persons of interest and recovered two firearms, while nine victims have been discharged and three remain hospitalized.
An arrest warrant for Ka Nye Taylor, 20, was issued by the Toledo Police Department on 11 counts of felonious assault following the June 6 shooting at the Old West End Festival that injured 12 people, nine of them innocent bystanders.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two 'rival groups,' which led to a physical altercation and then an exchange of gunfire on Saturday, Toledo Police Chief Michael Troendle reported.
Authorities are searching for a second shooter, offering rewards of up to $10,000 through Crime Stoppers and $5,000 via the U.S. Marshals Service, while three victims remain hospitalized in stable condition.
Toledo City Council President Vanice Williams said gun violence 'affect those families' and 'the whole community,' while officials highlighted the Healing and Compassion Fund to support those harmed.
Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz noted this was the 174th mass shooting in America this year and suggested rescheduling the festival, now in its 53rd year of celebrating Toledo's historic neighborhood.
