Comedian Deniz Göktaş, who was arrested as part of an investigation launched after his show "Dead Sea" was released on social media, shared a new message from prison. Referring to the successive releases and re-arrests, Göktaş said, "I was arrested two more times after my last tweet."
A demonstration was organized in Istanbul's Kadıköy district at the call of the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) in support of imprisoned comedian Deniz Göktaş. TİP spokesperson Sera Kadıgil stated, "Deniz's only crime was not being afraid of the palace regime and the climate of fear it is trying to create, and reminding millions of people once again that we should not be afraid."
Comedian Deniz Göktaş shared a new message from prison. Stating that he has been arrested twice, Göktaş said, "I was comforting myself by thinking, 'They can't put me in jail again, can they?' Apparently, they can."
Comedian Deniz Göktaş addressed those who gathered in Kadıköy to support him with a letter he wrote from prison. Referring to his three arrests, Göktaş said, "So, the rebellious child of Karatepe, the crime machine, continues to spread terror."
