On the 17th, the Astronomical Society of Japan announced that it had selected the "Temporary Latitude Observatory Main Building" (Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture), the "Mitaka 200MHz (megahertz) Solar Radio Telescope" (Minamimaki Village, Nagano Prefecture), and the "Kawayama Astronomical Observatory" (Yamashina Ward, Kyoto City) as Japan's astronomical heritage sites for 2024.
