3 pro-China party members get prison for national security violations - Focus Taiwan

Taipei, March 27 (CNA) The Taiwan High Court Kaohsiung Branch Court on Thursday sentenced three members of the Chinese Unification Promotion Party to prison for violating the National Security Act.

A Chinese Unification Promotion Party cadre surnamed Wen was accused of recruiting retired military officers surnamed Zhu and Jiang after returning to Taiwan for business and developing organizations for the Chinese Communist Party. Today, the Kaohsiung High Court sentenced Wen to 10 months in prison, Zhu to 6 months in prison, and Jiang to 1 year in prison for violating the National Security Law. The case is subject to appeal.
