Three found dead at home of gunman who killed six in Krakow, Polish PM says
Police said the suspect opened fire from a moving car and later found three bodies at his home, deepening the investigation into a possible far-right motive.
On Saturday, a 25-year-old Polish gunman killed six people and injured at least 15 in Krakow's Main Market Square before police shot and subdued him during a confrontation.
Police discovered three additional bodies at the suspect's home following the attack; Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, citing drone footage, said there is "much to suggest" they were the suspect's immediate family members.
Senior Constable Jakub Kulik and Senior Constable Artur Moradski confronted the shooter during the rampage, with Prime Minister Tusk calling them "true heroes" who "saved many lives."
Poland will observe two days of national mourning beginning Sunday and Monday, with Prime Minister Tusk telling a press conference the attack represents "until now in Poland we haven't had such drastic cases of terrorism."
U.S. Ambassador to Poland Tom Rose condemned the violence on X, writing "America stands with Poland at this dark hour," as authorities investigate the suspect's potential far-right motivations.
