Glenarm: Viable Device Found in Security Alert
A controlled explosion was carried out after police found a viable device, and two men remain in custody on explosion-related suspicion.
- On Monday, April 6, the Police Service of Northern Ireland arrested three people after Ammunition Technical Officers conducted a controlled explosion on a viable device discovered in the Feystown Road area of Glenarm, County Antrim.
- Two men, aged 43 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and intending to cause an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property. A woman in her 70s was also arrested for obstruction.
- Detective Inspector Lenaghan appealed for witnesses in the Feystown Road area between 4am and 5am on Monday, April 6, requesting anyone with CCTV footage contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 401.
- Both men remain in police custody at this time, while the woman in her 70s has been released to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service as investigations continue.
