Thousands evacuate after Indonesia quake kills 51, cuts roads
Rescuers are still searching cut-off villages as landslides, power outages and communications failures slow aid to more than 5,000 evacuees, officials said.

- Disaster agency BNPB reported more than 1,300 homes were damaged, with many residents trapped under rubble. Deputy Health Minister Benjamin Paulus Octavianus confirmed 36 people sustained serious injuries, while 77 others received treatment for minor wounds.
- Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya announced more than 3,500 military and police officers deployed to the region. Around 5,000 people have been evacuated, with thousands in Sikka seeking shelter in makeshift tents and sports arenas.
- "Almost all of Sikka's residents didn't dare stay indoors, so they slept on a porch or a tent outside," deputy regent Simon Sabandi told KompasTV. Australia's tsunami warning centre confirmed there is "no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland, islands or territories.
