'They're Lucky I'm Not a Better Shot' | Indiana Farmer Facing Charges After Allegedly Shooting Crop Duster Plane in 2025
The pilot was not injured and safely landed as investigators spent months reviewing the July 18 shooting, officials said.
- Thorntown farmer Kedrick J. Miller was arrested and charged for shooting at a crop duster on July 18, 2025, following a monthslong investigation by the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
- The shooting occurred near the intersection of state roads 32 and 75 in Dover, about a 40-minute drive northwest of Indianapolis, between 6–7 p.m. last summer.
- Prosecutors charged Miller with attempted murder, a Level 1 felony; criminal recklessness, a Level 5 felony; and other charges including disrupting aircraft operations. The pilot landed safely without injury.
- Miller is held without bond at the Boone County jail while awaiting his initial hearing at 8:30 a.m. today in Boone Circuit Court in Lebanon.
- The FBI and Federal Aviation Administration assisted the investigation. Sheriff Tony Harris stated that firing at occupied aircraft creates extremely dangerous situations with potential for catastrophic consequences.
