Thornton officer cleared in the fatal October 2024 shooting of resident - Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel

ADAMS COUNTY, COLORADO, JUL 11 – Adams County District Attorney Brian Mason found Officer Smedley’s use of lethal force justified after Skells wounded two officers during a violent standoff, officials said.

A Thornton Police Officer will not face criminal charges for his role in the shooting death of William Skells who was found dead in a residence at 16024 Columbine St. on Oct. 9, 2024.
