The project lasted for 5 years. Built in the 1970s and 1980s, the whole was in great need of a major renovation, including energy, and a modernisation to adapt to its triple vocation of welcoming students and university staff (University and CHU), trainees from Adeps and clubs, and federations in charge of sports elites. The sports centres of Sart Tilman, now known as the Centre Sport Liège (Adeps & University) were therefore new.
