Seven Wounded in Thibodaux Shooting Sunday, Investigation Underway
Police said seven people suffered gunshot injuries and several others were hurt while fleeing, and no life-threatening injuries were reported.
Seven people sustained gunshot-related injuries in a shooting outside a nightclub in Thibodaux, Louisiana on Sunday night shortly after 10 p.m. near the intersection of East 10th Street and Narrow Street.
Beyond the seven gunshot victims, several additional injuries were reported as nightclub patrons attempted to flee the area following the shooting, though police did not specify the exact number hurt during the escape.
Thibodaux Police Chief Bryan Zeringue confirmed that all seven gunshot injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening. The police department did not release victim names or ages.
Detectives are processing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and pursuing multiple investigative leads at the scene. Antrell Broomfield, Lafourche Parish Council District 1 representative, said "My heart is with everyone affected, those who were injured, their families, and all who witnessed this tragic event."
The investigation remains ongoing with no arrests announced and no suspect information released by authorities. Police withheld victim identities and provided no details about what led to the incident or how many people may have fired shots.
