It is not at sea, but on the river Loire. It has only a hundred inhabitants. It is the commune of Béhuard (Maine-et-Loire). The island is accessible by two bridges. When the river is in flood, the water can rise very high, as in 1995. These moments are rather joyfully lived. All the houses are therefore on floor. They have been designed accordingly.
