In recent days, Włocławek has become the site of another remarkable archaeological discovery. First, in April, approximately 400 items of gold, silver, and other valuables, including jewelry, watches, coins, and silverware, were found on Tumska Street. Now, another deposit has been revealed. This time, 532 coins have been unearthed.
A total of over 500 silver coins with a combined face value of 2,420 marks were discovered on September 2nd during archaeological excavations at 12 Królewiecka Street in Włocławek. During the renovation of a historic tenement house at 12 Królewiecka Street in Włocławek, archaeologists discovered a veritable treasure trove: 532 silver coins. They were hidden in a glass jar beneath the brick floor. Preliminary estimates suggest the find could be worth approximately 100,000 złoty.
