Bayamo, Cuba, 25 Mar (RHC) A wide day takes place in this city, capital of the province of Granma, dedicated to honoring the 174th anniversary of the first public performance of the song La Bayamesa, a loving and patriotic symbol that marked romanticism in Cuban nationality and in the formation of cultural identity.

As it is traditional, the 40th edition of the Day of the Bayamesa Culture begins in Bayamo. The event, scheduled to take place from today until the 27th of the current month, will be dedicated to the 174th anniversary of the interpretation of the romantic song “La Bayamesa”, and to the 130th of the fall in combat of José Martí.
