Qatar and the United States have jointly urged the European Union to revisit its Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), warning that the bloc’s environmental and human rights compliance rules could disrupt liquefied natural gas (LNG) flows to Europe.
Both countries sent a letter to the Heads of State of the European Union expressing their dissatisfaction with a European directive.
The Financial Times reported that the US and Qatar are unhappy with the European Union's (EU) due diligence directive, and fossil fuel exporters have threatened that the green rule could jeopardize the bloc's security of supply.
