The Supreme Court acquitted the Icelandic state of Innes' claims, thus overturning the judgment of the Reykjavík District Court in a case that has been attributed to the Agricultural Products Act.

The Supreme Court reversed the decision of the Reykjavík District Court on the validity of the Agricultural Products Act that was passed last year. In its decision, the district court said that the law violated the constitutional law and therefore had no legal force. The Supreme Court has acquitted the Competition Authority of all claims by Innness in the Agricultural Products Act case. The Supreme Court has therefore given the green light to the disputed law. The government has already announced a change to the law with immediate effect.
