- Dramatic footage shows the statue leaning and then falling in a car park near a McDonald's, with the 11-metres-high concrete base remaining intact and a white car narrowly missed, while Havan staff said, `The area was immediately isolated by the company, following all safety protocols`.
- Havan said the replica met technical standards and opened an internal investigation, and footage of the fall has racked up millions of views online.
- Authorities said the metropolitan area avoided widespread power or service failures despite hail and roof damage in Tio Hugo, Passo Fundo, Santa Cruz do Sul, Vera Cruz, and flooding in Lajeado.
