Emmanuel Macron calls on Freemasons to defend secularism against the "traps of identity reading"

"Let us beware of the trap that prepares those who would like to make the 1905 law an identity reading (...) for the sole purpose of attacking religions," declared the President of the Republic in a speech to the Grand Lodge of France.

"Let us beware of the trap that prepares those who would like to make the law of 1905 an identity reading (...) for the sole purpose of attacking religions," said the head of state, on Monday during a speech to the Grand Lodge of France, a few months before the 120th anniversary of the law of separation of the Churches and the State.

This presidential visit will take place within the framework of the 120th anniversary of the law of separation of churches and the State, adopted on 9 December 1905.

President Macron delivered a speech on secularism at the Grand Lodge of France on Monday evening, just a few months before the 120th anniversary of the law on the separation of Church and State.
