There could be a dream job for many in the pipeline in sunny Spain, with one company remaining on the lookout for people to drink wine daily. The University of Navarra Alumni Trialist Initiative (UNATI) in the Basque region of Spain is running a large-scale trial investigating the effects of moderate alcohol consumption. Half will consume moderate wine, the others will choose absence. The study will only focus on people between 50 and 75 years of age. The participants are monitored by 500 doctors in Spain. The study is not funded by the alcohol industry. The project receives 2.5 million euros from the EU.
