Frans Timmermans, leader of the GroenLinks-PvdA party, wants to significantly accelerate the construction of wind turbines. During the WindDay conference in Rotterdam, he said: "There's an emergency situation that we have to break through administratively. It's urgent." He wants to be able to bypass municipalities if they oppose the plan. As far as he's concerned, local resistance should no longer be an obstacle.
