The second edition of the World Games of Humanoid Robots in Beijing brought together 666 teams from 16 countries, no African countries represented, and 2,056 robots in competition. 21 scripted events now test robots on factory, rescue and domestic handling tasks, valuing autonomy rather than speed.
Over 2,000 humanoid robots are competing in sports and performance events at the World Humanoid Robot Games held in Beijing, China. The event, which runs until August 26th, also tests the robots' practical skills.
The robot sports competitions are scheduled to last for five days. The Olympics are primarily a grand showcase of technological progress in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
